Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (In-person & Telehealth)
MIRANDA ALVAREZ
Many clients find themselves presenting as successful, yet feel trapped in cycles of overthinking, people pleasing, and burnout. Despite accomplishments, clients may find themselves struggling with harsh inner criticism, self-doubt, and an inability to relax. My goal is to help shift these feelings of burnout, and lead you towards a more balanced version of yourself.
My approach includes exploring how past experiences shape current struggles. Sessions will be tailored to support mind-body awareness and deep inner work. My approach is collaborative and relational, and combines somatic and talk-based interventions to process trauma, shift limiting beliefs, and regulate emotions.
You deserve to feel regulated and in control.
MY BACKGROUND & APPROACH
I specialize in working with clients of all ages, and I have experience in trauma, crisis intervention, and working with dual diagnosis populations. I have worked in community mental health settings, and have experience navigating clients through life transitions, substance use, and crisis. I have also worked in school settings, and have worked with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, therefore allowing me to implement play into sessions, based on the child’s motivation.
You can expect sessions to be collaborative, and various modalities will be utilized to best tailor to your needs.
